Author: went to an advanced training class today.
it was put on by Doreen and Jim at Detroit Arms.
they really know their stuff.
Jim has had professional training and passes that knowledge on to us everday folks.
we learned the basics of the 5 point draw, shooting from the number 3 postiion (the hip),shooting weak hand only,strong hand only, basics of malfunction clearing and even a little flash light work.
it was way cool.
we used non lethal training guns (expensive airsoft guns).
i got the jist of the draw prety fast but the malfunction drills shook me up a bit.
i got the gun running ok but not “by the book” so to speak.
Doreen fed us of course. i think i am going to pack on some lbs. if i continue to train with them!

i look forward to the next level.

By the way, if you’re gonna continue hanging with me you may want to find a source for elastic waist pants with belt loops – it’s the only way to roll! What’s a shooting class without a buffet? It just doesn’t make sense any other way.
